Art work

The last few days 45 has been spent on art, there’s lots of it as well :-)

I’ve now finished the following:

  • Map
  • The Jetty
  • The Volcano
  • The Deep
  • The Cave
  • The Shop
  • Some Items
  • Some new fish
  • A few buttons and other bits.

I also spent some time working on the shop and stumbled across a new gameplay element.

In the original game you had three bits of bait that could be casted at any time, the bait would be replenished if you hit a fish or if it went of the scene. I’ve changed this now so that you have to buy bait from the shop, you can buy as much as you want but it wont get replenished while playing. (Although, if you hit a bubble it will be replenished as this is a defensive move)

This makes the player think a bit more before casting and adds a level of “protectiveness” over your stock, which in turn makes the game a bit more challenging.

I need to do a lot of work on the shop and that will probably be my 45′s for this week :-)

    charging in game money for ammos makes early game wiser.Then if the player can, he would stock huge amounts of them, so that he doesn’t worry.If the stock is limited this is just an annoyance as he must repeat an obvious action.It would be smart if the game re-buys the same amount of baits the player used when going to a shop, with a confirm message only if the sum would exceed half the money the player has.
